The Foamspray Technology System provides outstanding roof insulation and stabilisation within the Domestic market place.
Application
Foamspray will apply the rooflock system to the complete underside of the roof. The foam is applied to a thickness of 40 to 50 millimetres and is sprayed between, and not over, the rafters and purlins. It is applied directly on to the back of the tiles or slates and over the fixing batons, creating a continuous seamless barrier; therefore providing excellent stability and insulation values. The foam used is not a vapour barrier, it is vapour permeable so allowing any trapped moisture to pass through. It is important that the roof is left adequately ventilated to enable the roof to take sufficient air thus avoiding any structural deterioration or condensation. This is achieved by leaving ventilation gaps at the bottom of the roof at eaves level to enable the roof to take roof to take sufficient air.
It permanently cures the problems of nail fatigue making the roof much more resistant to storm or impact damage. Because it is liquid when applied it seeks and seals any unwanted air leakage that may occur preventing the ingress of wind-driven rain, snow and dust and dramatically reducing heat loss.
Installation
The Foamspray rooflock system is completed in most cases in a single day in a domestic context, in the industrial context of course, the duration of application will depend on the surface area of the structure which may, of course, be of a considerable size.
Other attractions associated with this method of refurbishment are that it is carried out at a much lower cost than re roofing. The application is easy, being from inside the roof and therefore no scaffolding is required. Further, there is minimum disturbance of below roof activity during the initial installation.
Foamspray Technology use only materials that carry a certification to
Class 1 Fire Rating to British Safety Standards BS 476 Part 7.
Remedial Works
Prior to any rooflock system being applied Foamspray will carry out all remedial works to the roof i.e. all broken or imperfect tiles/slates will be replaced, any slipped slates or tiles will be repositioned and re-fixed if possible. Ridge tiles will be checked, re-bedded or re-pointed where necessary. All lead flashings will be checked and replaced where appropriate.
